No knead bread

This is a miracle bread that I found a couple of years ago when cruising around on YouTube  click her to watch .  It is a miracle, because it takes about 5 minutes of active work and in any home oven you can come up with a bread that looks like this.

The only downside is that you have to wait 12 hours from when you start, but if you start the process in the evening, the next morning while you are showering and getting ready for work the bread can be baking and you can amaze and delight all your colleagues at work with fresh baked bread.

3 cups of flour
1/4 teaspoon of dried yeast
1 teaspoon of salt
1 1/2 cups of cold water.

So after cleaning the kitchen up after supper pull out a large bowl add all the ingredients and stir in to a sticky fairly wet dough.

Cover with a tea towel and leave on the kitchen counter for 12 hours.

The next morning the dough will have risen and then fallen. Before you get in the shower turn on your oven to 500 and put a large cast iron pot in to heat up.  When the oven has come up to heat and the pot is very hot, pull it out of the oven and plop in the dough. It is quite sticky and you will be convinced that it will stick to your pot and have to be scraped off with razor blades.

But don't fear sprinkle some flour on the top and put on a lid and throw it back in the oven.  It is now time for your shower and making your self look beautiful approximately 25 minutes.  Pull the pot out and remove the lid.

The bread will have risen and will be pale golden.  Put it back in the oven for a further 10 to 20 minutes depending how dark you want it and how late you are for work.

Now the bread will be dark and crusty and shrunk away from the sides of the pot.  Scoop it out being careful because it and the pot are very hot.

This is absolutely delicious bread and you would swear it came from an expensive artisans bakery.

I can highly recommend this bread and encourage you to watch the YouTube as well and invite your co workers to share lunch and pull this out, or treat your family for fresh baked bread for a weekend breakfast. Who needs a bread maker?
